IT products are in high demand in Spain 2021-2022

Spain

The consumer market for IT in Spain is mainly SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises). According to the data of the SoftDoid statistical analysis organization in Spain, 647 257 companies have completed their information and programming process and analysed information about which IT products are in high demand.

In 2021, 86.4% of organisations that implemented business software are small and medium-sized enterprises with an annual turnover of fewer than 2 million euros. If we take into account that 70% of companies within this indicator do business with less than 500,000 euros per year, we see that the companies that have passed the programming process are mainly freelancers and small companies.

What kind of software are in high demand?

Of all the companies analyzed, more than half wanted to implement an ERP solution to improve their business processes (55%).

This type of software continues to maintain its leadership with respect to the rest of the programs for yet another year, mainly due to the wide range of solutions found under the ERP umbrella, from simple accounting systems to more complete ones for the global management of a company.

In addition, we cannot forget that there are various sectoral ERPs, specifically designed for activities such as industry, logistics, the primary sector, services, food, etc.

What is ERP

An ERP is a program which manages the back-office of a company; that is, its internal management: resources, processes, interdepartmental communication and financial and administrative development.

An ERP centralizes the main business processes, such as production, billing, the supply chain or accounting, in a single database.

For this reason, an ERP for companies constitutes great support in decision-making, the optimization of processes and when it comes to speeding up the resolution of problems. Carrying out a performance and productivity analysis is much easier when obtaining a global vision of the business.
